National Capacity Building Institute

"Coordination and Management of Supports and Services for Individuals with Disabilities from Secondary to Postsecondary Education and Employment"

When and Where: December 9th and 10th, 2002, Back Bay Hilton, Boston, Massachusetts, in coordination with the International TASH Conference, December 12th through 13th.

Who Should Attend: National, State, District, & School/Community Level Persons, including secondary school special and general educators, counselors, transition coordinators, postsecondary education and employment support specialists, one-stop career center personnel, youth with disabilities, family members, adult community support service providers and other persons involved with postsecondary education & employment opportunities for youth with disabilities. (Individuals as well as district or state level teams will be accommodated)

Participants will have the opportunity to:

Invited Speakers:

Format & Agenda: The Institute will occur in three phases of activity:
Phase I: Preliminary period of online readings and discussion with authors & researchers in (Nov. 9 – Dec 9, 2002).
Phase II: Two-day intensive workshop* in Boston (Dec 9-10).
Phase III: One month of online follow-up discussions surrounding next steps and implementation of new knowledge and skills.
