Rick Jeffries currently serves as coordinator for the Transition Planning Department at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida. He also teaches Psychology and Human Development courses at the college level and is part of the AHEAD/TRiO national training team who train college staff nationwide in working with students with disabilities. Mr. Jeffries holds an undergraduate degree in Special Education/Learning Disabilities and a graduate degree in Counseling. Mr. Jeffries taught Special Education at the elementary and secondary levels for 7 years and was a guidance counselor for 3 years. He has worked in corporate training in the business community and also in higher education at the community college level in enrollment management and also in a TRiO Student Support Services Program. Mr. Jeffries has presented at several national conferences on the subject of students with disabilities, TRiO programs, and transition issues, including: AHEAD/TRiO training in San Antonio, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Milwaukee. He also presented at the national Council on Opportunity for Education conference in San Diego and the national AHEAD conference in Miami.
