CBI: Issues of Transition and Postsecondary Participation for Individuals with Hidden Disabilities

Invited Speakers: Alpheus Mathis

Alpheus Mathis received a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy (OT) from the University of Puget Sound in 1983 and received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from University of Hawaii in December 2003. His area of concentration is organizational reform, applied research in organizational performance, and community capacity building. He is currently an Occupational Therapist with the Department of Health / Hawaii State Hospital. He was a member of the Hawaii Department of Health team that submitted the Planning and Implementation grant applications to the Maternal and Child Health Bureau to foster sustainable change in Hawaii's system of community services and to support best practices in the field of traumatic brain injury (TBI). He has over 18 years in public service for persons with various disabilities. He is an advocate, mentor and was a staff member involved with various capacity building initiatives for persons with disabilities.
