CBI: Enhancing Transition to Postsecondary Education and Employment for Youth with Disabilities through Culturally Relevant Supports, Services, and Education

Invited Speakers: Joakim Peter

Born and raised in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia, Joakim Peter is the Director of the Chuuk Campus of the College of Micronesia-FSM. He was the Project Director for the Chuuk Culture and Education Studies Program and taught History and Social Science at the same college after graduate studies at UH Manoa in 1997.

Peter has been a quadriplegic since freshman year at Xavier High School after falling off a rock. He is a member of the Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and the Interagency Agency Council for Advocacy in Chuuk.
